Do I need to have a regular dentist to use Toothfairy?

No. Toothfairy was created to help people access dental care more easily, including those who may not currently have access to a regular dentist. We provide our own dentists.

What problems can Toothfairy help with?

Toothfairy supports a wide range of dental needs, including urgent dental concerns, teeth straightening, teeth whitening, treatment monitoring, prescriptions, and general dental advice, for you as a direct patient, or as an insurance member /employee member.

Is Toothfairy available out-of-hours?

Yes. Toothfairy provides around-the-clock access to dental support, helping members get advice and assistance whenever they need it.

Can I speak to a real dentist?

Yes. Toothfairy combines smart technology with access to real, qualified dentists who can provide professional advice, consultations, and treatment guidance.

How does Toothfairy work?

Members can access dental support through the app, including remote consultations, treatment monitoring e.g. teeth straightening, dental advice, and access to qualified dentists. The platform is designed to make getting dental help quicker and more convenient than traditional routes.

Is the app free to download?

Yes. The Toothfairy app is free to download on both iOS and Android devices. Some services, treatments, or membership plans may have associated costs, but downloading and creating an account is free.

Toothfairy is operated by a dentist-led team combining dental expertise with digital healthcare technology to deliver consultations, treatment support, and ongoing dental care through the app.

Toothfairy was founded by dentists with the mission of improving access to dental care and removing barriers that prevent people from getting professional advice and treatment when they need it.

Are you fully health regulated?

Yes. Toothfairy is the first health-regulated dental app, providing access to qualified dental professionals through a regulated digital platform. The service has been tested and validated within NHS settings and is designed to deliver safe, accessible dental care remotely.

What is a business plan?

Toothfairy covers businesses and their employees for dental issues. Whether it is a prescription for a spreading swelling or dental pain at work, our dentists are on hand to assist. We run employee engagement and health programmes to prevent dental disease before it can occur through oral health workshops and personalised 1:1 guidance in the app.

What features are part of a business plan?

Toothfairy offers a range of features to assist employees, which include: Dentist chat – 1:1 personalised chat with a dentist, available out-of-hours; Video consult: 1:1 video consult with a dentist, available out-of-hours; Prescriptions for medicines; Virtual exams to assess teeth and identify high-risk sites; Discounted of cosmetics. Each business can create a personalised plan for their employees and cater to specific needs.

What time is the service available?

Dentist Chat Helpline: Assistance is available in the app seven days a week, with the core operating from 9 am to 8 pm. Dentist Video Consult: Assistance is available Monday – Friday, 9 am to 6 pm. Response to request for an appointment to be addressed within 24-48 hours.

How can employees get this service?

Eligible members will be invited to register with and start using Toothfairy after their employer purchases an eligible policy with Toothfairy or a partner Insurer.

Are the dentists trained and registered?

Yes, all Toothfairy dentists hold UK General Dental Council (GDC) licenses and are fully indemnified. To maintain the highest standards of care, Toothfairy dentists undergo regular audits and reviews.

Is the service confidential?

The service is completely confidential. No information will be shared with partners, or an employer aside from anonymous usage information.

How do I set up my profile?

Please note, that before you can use the Toothfairy app you must complete your: name, date of birth, address, medical history, email confirmation. This will enable you to use all the features available to you in the app.

I am unable to find my verification email?

Please check your spam or junk folder, as sometimes the verification email can be filtered as junk by your email provider.

Where do I add in a code I have received?

You can add the code an insurer or employer supplied to your Profile under Codes.

Why do I need to complete my medical history to use this service?

Toothfairy is regulated by the Care Quality Commission (UK health regulatory body). To discharge our regulatory requirements, we need to be able to give accurate medical advice and ensure patient safety. To do so we require details of your medical history.
